Seminar/Workshop: Concepts of Generativity in Goethe (Pittsburgh, March 7, 2026)
Veröffentlicht am 2026-03-03The editorial team of the Goethe-Lexicon of Philosophical Concepts is proud to announce our upcoming hybrid seminar/workshop, titled Concepts of Generativity in Goethe, which will take place in Pittsburgh, PA, on Saturday, March 7, as part of NeMLA 2026.
Co-organized by Daniel Carranza (Harvard) and Bryan Klausmeyer (Virginia Tech), the seminar brings together an international group of scholars to discuss such concepts as Abglanz (Margaret Strair), Bildung (John H. Smith), Bildungstrieb (Jack Murphy), Blatt (Ross Shields), Metamorphose (Gabriela Zgrzebnicka), Zufällige Metamorphose (Simon Horn), Zeugung / Fortpflanzung (Isabell Meske), Paraphrase / Umschreibung (Sina Dell'Anno), and Komposition (Shira Miron).
This upcoming seminar/workshop, together with our previous seminar at the 2025 conference of the German Studies Association in Arlington, VA, offers an exciting preview of what is in store for the Goethe-Lexicon as we make progress towards the publication of our next installments.
